Terms of Service

Effective 2 September 2026 · DartWeaver (operated by Ian Inch, South Africa)

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Keepa. They cover the Keepa apps and the website at keepa.co.za. By using either you agree to be bound by these terms.

Keepa is in development and currently offered as an early access service for testing. Features may change and data entered during this period may be corrected or removed as the service takes shape.
1

Acceptance of terms

expand_more
By accessing or using Keepa, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service. These terms constitute a legal agreement between you and DartWeaver (operated by Ian Inch, South Africa). We may update these terms at any time and continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
2

Early access

expand_more
Keepa is under active development. The apps are distributed for testing and the service is provided on an early access basis. We do not guarantee availability, and features may be added, changed or withdrawn without notice. Records entered during early access may need to be corrected, migrated or removed as the platform develops. Where that affects your data we will make reasonable efforts to tell you first.
3

Accounts

expand_more
You can use Keepa as a guest or with an email and password. Upgrading a guest account to an email account keeps your existing records. You must be at least 18 years old to register a beekeeping operation. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. One person may not maintain multiple accounts. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4

Your registration details

expand_more
Details you submit when registering your operation go into the beekeeper database. We use them to run the network, to connect you with buyers, refineries and farmers where you ask for that, and to assist with official hive registration and lease renewals where you ask for help. You are responsible for keeping your details accurate and current. Submitting someone else's details requires their permission, including through assisted capture.
5

Location and your block

expand_more
Keepa shows where keepers operate using forage blocks roughly 30 km across. The block you claim is visible to other members. Your exact hive positions, apiary coordinates and address are never published to other members, in any list, map, aggregate or export. Area figures are withheld where so few keepers share a block that a figure would effectively be one keeper's business.
6

Hive records are private

expand_more
Your hives, inspections and hive settings are readable by your account and nothing else. They do not appear in any feed, query, aggregate, export or screen another member can reach. Hive records can be stored on your device while you are without signal and sync when a connection returns.
7

Colony health information

expand_more
Colony health history is commercially sensitive and is only stored with your explicit consent. If you do not give consent, health information is not recorded at all. Health information is never published against your name or your block.
8

Marketplace

expand_more
Keepa lets sellers list honey and lets buyers and refineries place requests and bids. Keepa is the venue and is not a party to any sale. A sale is concluded between the buyer and the seller, who are each responsible for their own performance, payment and compliance. Keepa charges a commission of 5 percent on a concluded sale, fixed on the listing when it is published. Listings and bids must be genuine. Bidding on your own lot, shill bidding or manipulating an auction is prohibited.
9

Theft watch and reports

expand_more
Theft watch lets keepers warn each other about theft and tampering at block level. Reports must be honest and made in good faith. Keepa is not an emergency service and a report on Keepa is not a report to the police. False or malicious reporting may result in account termination.
10

Acceptable use

expand_more
You may not: (a) attempt to identify another keeper's hive positions or use the service to locate hives, (b) harass, threaten or impersonate other users, (c) use offensive, discriminatory or hateful language, (d) submit false registration, health or theft information, (e) spam or manipulate the platform, (f) attempt to access others' accounts or data, (g) reverse engineer or compromise the service's security, (h) use automated systems without permission. Violations may result in immediate account termination and legal action if necessary.
11

Intellectual property

expand_more
Keepa, its design, features and underlying code are owned by DartWeaver and protected by South African and international copyright laws. You may not copy, modify or distribute any part of the service without written permission. The Keepa name, logo and branding are trademarks of DartWeaver. The records you submit remain yours.
12

Termination

expand_more
You may stop using Keepa at any time and may ask us to delete your account and records by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in prohibited activities or pose security risks. Upon termination your access ends immediately and your personal data is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy.
13

Limitation of liability

expand_more
Keepa is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. DartWeaver is not liable for: (a) content submitted by users or interactions between users, (b) the outcome of any sale, contract or pollination arrangement made through the platform, (c) the outcome of any registration or lease application we assist with, (d) technical issues, data loss or service interruptions, (e) third party actions or content. Our total liability shall not exceed R100 (One Hundred South African Rand). This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by South African law.
14

Changes and governing law

expand_more
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be notified through the service or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by South African law and any disputes shall be resolved in South African courts. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
